Grant Manor

Here is a reproduction of the Grant Manor. A place with huge history in my home town of St-Timothée. Here the first bloody strike in the history of Canada. I took references from the mansion last winter. They are lower. The challenge was to replicate all the environment but in its 19th century glory with candle light. I made the modeling in Maya and Zbrush. The cloth simulation in Marvelous designer and texturing in Mari and substance painter. I build the scene in Houdini and render using Redshift.

-The Lachine Strike of 1843 -
The Irish worker digging of the first Beauharnois Canal made a stand in front of the Manor and demand better working conditions. The magistrate, Jean Baptiste Laviolette, asks the soldiers of the 74th Regiment and the British Army Light Dragoons to open fire in the crowd. Killing 20 people and injure many more in the chaos. My vision is a ''what if'' the worker gets to the magistrate before the army arrive. And add goblins instead, because I can.
